Mean Women Running Rampant! What's Your Story?

Is it my imagination, or just bad luck, that I seem to run into Mean Women on a pretty regular basis? I would like to chalk it up to these cute young things running around texting to communicate and as such, possess no social skills, but I can't. Women who are old enough to know better engage in atrocious behavior against other women. What happened to personal integrity? Do these women have custody of a conscience?

My definition of a Mean Woman is any female who:

• manipulates others and the truth to get what she wants (the "ends justify the means" mentality); and/or
  
• purposefully lies about another woman to elevate her own status (the "tear you down to make myself look and feel better" method); and/or
• sides with the Mean Woman, and although is not lying or manipulating herself, totally abandons the victim and thus is an active participant (the "I'll forsake my own integrity to save myself" technique).

This third type of Mean Woman (MW) will always think of herself as having nothing to do with the situation, but in reality she is the most hurtful of all. Her participation is usually manifested by the Classic Freeze-Out, ostracizing/isolating the target and leaving her in a communication vacuum. This is just as bad as the original MW doing the dastardly deed, if not worse. She is only taking this stance because she assumes that if she sides with the MW, then she won't become a target herself.
